Best Crypto Futures Trading Platforms in 2026
Crypto futures trading has become one of the most competitive parts of the cryptocurrency market. Traders can now choose between platforms offering perpetual futures, advanced charting, automated trading bots, copy trading, low maker and taker fees, and—in some cases—leverage of 100x or considerably more.
But the platform offering the highest leverage isn't automatically the best futures exchange.
For active traders, fees, liquidity, order execution, charting, risk controls and the actual trading interface matter just as much as headline leverage. Geographic eligibility matters too: several major international futures exchanges don't serve traders in countries such as the United States.
We compared five of the strongest crypto futures platforms available in 2026:
Phemex — Best Overall Crypto Futures Platform
Bybit — Best for Advanced Derivatives Traders
Bitget — Best for Futures Copy Trading
MEXC — Best for Very High Leverage
Kraken — Best for U.S. Futures Traders
Our top overall pick is Phemex, particularly for active traders who want a balance of high leverage, competitive fees, strong charting and an interface built around perpetual futures trading.
Important: Futures and leveraged cryptocurrency trading carry substantial risk. Leverage magnifies losses as well as gains and can result in rapid liquidation. Platform availability and derivatives eligibility also vary by jurisdiction. Always verify that a platform and its futures products are available where you legally reside.

Phemex currently advertises up to 100x leverage and lists standard futures fees of 0.01% maker and 0.06% taker. Bybit's current non-VIP perpetual/expiry fees are 0.02% maker and 0.055% taker. Bitget commonly lists 0.02%/0.06% standard futures rates and BTCUSDT has supported leverage as high as 150x. MEXC states that selected BTC and ETH futures can reach 500x leverage.
1. Phemex — Best Overall Crypto Futures Trading Platform
Best for: Active traders who want high leverage, low base futures fees and a clean trading interface.
Maximum leverage: Up to 100x on selected contracts
Standard futures maker fee: 0.01%
Standard futures taker fee: 0.06%
Why We Rank Phemex #1
Phemex offers one of the best combinations of the features that actually matter to an active futures trader.
Its derivatives platform supports perpetual futures, leverage of up to 100x on selected markets, advanced order types and TradingView-powered charting. Phemex also offers trading bots, copy trading and simulated trading tools.
Standard futures pricing is competitive as well. Phemex currently lists a base 0.01% maker fee and 0.06% taker fee, with lower rates available through higher VIP tiers.
What gives Phemex an advantage for us is the actual trading experience.
We tested the platform with a real ETH/USDT perpetual futures trade using isolated 100x leverage. That gave us the opportunity to evaluate order execution, position controls and the futures interface rather than simply comparing published feature lists.
The trading screen keeps charting, order entry, leverage, open positions, take-profit and stop-loss controls close together without making the workflow unnecessarily complicated.
What Phemex Does Well
Up to 100x leverage on selected perpetual futures
Competitive base futures fees
TradingView-powered charts
Isolated and cross-margin trading
Take-profit and stop-loss controls
Trading bots
Copy trading
Mock trading
Strong interface for active futures traders
Phemex's January 2026 futures guide continues to position derivatives as a flagship part of the exchange and confirms leverage up to 100x on selected pairs.
Where Phemex Could Be Better
Phemex isn't necessarily the best choice for someone whose only goal is buying Bitcoin periodically and moving it into long-term storage.
Its biggest advantages are aimed at active traders.
And because derivatives availability varies by country, traders should verify current eligibility directly with Phemex before opening or funding an account.
Phemex Verdict
Best choice for: Traders who want a well-rounded futures platform without sacrificing leverage or advanced tools.
Our rating: 9.6/10

2. Bybit — Best for Advanced Derivatives Traders
Best for: Experienced traders who want a deep derivatives ecosystem.
Maximum leverage: Up to 100x on many traditional perpetual futures
Non-VIP maker fee: 0.02%
Non-VIP taker fee: 0.055%
Bybit has built much of its reputation around derivatives trading.
Its futures platform supports USDT, USDC and inverse contracts along with multiple margin configurations and advanced position-management tools.
For non-VIP futures users, Bybit currently publishes 0.02% maker and 0.055% taker fees on its perpetual and expiry contracts.
Bybit also supports leverage up to 100x on contracts such as BTCUSDT under applicable risk limits. Maximum leverage decreases as position size and risk tiers increase.
What Bybit Does Well
Excellent derivatives-focused interface
USDT, USDC and inverse contracts
Up to 100x leverage on supported perpetual futures
Isolated, cross and portfolio-margin options
Advanced order types
Copy trading
Large derivatives ecosystem
Strong position-management tools
One feature that stands out in 2026 is Bybit's Smart Leverage product. Selected products can provide leveraged exposure of up to 200x, although Smart Leverage is structured differently from standard perpetual futures and shouldn't be treated as equivalent to a normal 200x perpetual position.
The Biggest Drawback
Bybit has extensive geographic restrictions.
As of August 2026, Bybit lists jurisdictions including the United States, mainland China, Hong Kong, Singapore and Canada among excluded regions. Traders should not attempt to circumvent geographic restrictions.
Bybit Verdict
Bybit is one of the strongest platforms in the market for experienced derivatives traders, especially traders who want a broader derivatives environment around their perpetual positions.
We rank Phemex slightly higher for the more straightforward active-trader experience, while Bybit gets the edge for sheer derivatives sophistication.
Best choice for: Experienced international derivatives traders.
3. Bitget — Best Crypto Futures Platform for Copy Trading
Best for: Traders who want futures and copy trading on the same platform.
Maximum leverage: Up to 150x on BTCUSDT under supported tiers
Typical standard futures maker fee: 0.02%
Typical standard futures taker fee: 0.06%
Bitget deserves a place near the top of this list because it has made futures trading and copy trading major parts of the same ecosystem.
Its futures products include:
USDT-M futures
Coin-M futures
USDC-M futures
Trading bots
Futures copy trading
Standard futures pricing is commonly 0.02% maker and 0.06% taker, although account tiers and promotions can change the rate.
Bitget's BTCUSDT perpetual futures have supported leverage up to 150x for lower position tiers, although leverage declines as position size increases.
Why Bitget Stands Out for Copy Trading
Bitget has invested heavily in its futures copy-trading product.
Users can review eligible traders and automatically mirror selected futures positions. Its 2026 copy-trading system includes dedicated portfolios, follower controls, performance metrics and risk-management features.
That makes Bitget particularly interesting for users who want access to derivatives but don't necessarily want to build every trading strategy from scratch.
Of course, copying another trader doesn't remove risk. A profitable historical record does not guarantee future profitability, and leveraged copied positions can still lose money.
Bitget Verdict
Bitget isn't our first choice purely for manual futures trading, but it becomes considerably more attractive when copy trading is part of the decision.
Best choice for: Traders specifically interested in futures copy trading.
Availability is jurisdiction-dependent, and Bitget identifies several restricted markets, including the United States.
4. MEXC — Best Crypto Futures Exchange for Very High Leverage
Best for: Experienced traders specifically looking for extremely high leverage and a large range of futures markets.
Maximum leverage: Up to 500x on selected BTC and ETH futures
Fees: Vary by pair, region, user type and promotion
MEXC is the outlier in our comparison.
While 100x leverage already qualifies as extremely aggressive, MEXC currently states that selected BTCUSDT and ETHUSDT futures can support leverage as high as 500x. It also lists up to 300x leverage on selected markets including SOL, XRP, DOGE and ADA.
That doesn't make 500x leverage a good idea for most traders.
In fact, it makes risk management substantially more important.
At 500x leverage, the amount of initial margin supporting a position is tiny relative to its notional value. Very small adverse price movements can have an outsized effect on position equity.
What MEXC Does Well
Extremely high maximum leverage
Wide variety of futures markets
Strong focus on altcoin trading
Frequent futures promotions
Competitive pricing on selected markets
MEXC's fee structure is less convenient to summarize than Phemex or Bybit because rates can vary substantially by user region, pair, promotion and trading method.
For example, MEXC announced 0% maker / 0.02% taker pricing for BTC and ETH futures for selected users in certain regions in May 2026, while API futures trades can carry an entirely separate fee schedule.
That's why we recommend checking the actual fee displayed in your MEXC account before comparing costs.
MEXC Verdict
MEXC wins the headline leverage competition.
But we don't rank exchanges based on maximum leverage alone.
For most futures traders, 100x is already more leverage than they need. Execution, interface quality, liquidity, fees and risk controls matter more.
Best choice for: Very experienced traders seeking high-leverage or less common futures markets.
5. Kraken — Best Crypto Futures Platform for U.S. Traders
Best for: U.S. traders who want regulated access to crypto futures.
Kraken is fundamentally different from the first four platforms on this list.
Rather than asking U.S. traders to use an offshore crypto derivatives exchange, Kraken now provides eligible American traders access to futures through Kraken Derivatives US.
Kraken's U.S. futures offering includes Bitcoin, Ether and Solana futures along with other CME-listed products. In 2026, it also expanded access to Bitnomial-listed perpetual futures, including contracts tied to BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP and other crypto assets.
Kraken Derivatives US operates through a CFTC-registered Futures Commission Merchant and NFA member.
Why This Matters
American traders face a very different derivatives market from international crypto traders.
Bybit and several other international exchanges explicitly exclude U.S. users. Kraken provides a compliant route into futures markets without pretending those restrictions don't exist.
This makes Kraken arguably the most important platform on this list for a reader located in the United States.
Kraken Futures Fees
U.S. futures pricing doesn't map neatly to the maker/taker structure used by offshore perpetual exchanges.
CME-listed futures generally involve per-contract commissions and exchange/clearing fees, while Bitnomial perpetual futures have their own pricing structure and funding mechanism.
Kraken's international derivatives fee schedule starts at approximately 0.02% maker / 0.05% taker, with lower rates available at higher tiers.
Kraken Verdict
If you're outside the U.S. and primarily interested in 100x perpetual futures, we'd choose Phemex, Bybit or Bitget first.
But if you're an eligible U.S. trader, Kraken moves much higher up the list.
Best choice for: U.S.-based traders who want regulated crypto futures access.
Which Crypto Futures Platform Is Best?
The answer depends heavily on how you trade.
Choose Phemex if:
You want the best overall combination of futures trading, leverage, competitive fees, TradingView charting and active-trader tools.
Choose Bybit if:
You're an experienced international derivatives trader who wants one of the most developed derivatives ecosystems.
Choose Bitget if:
You're particularly interested in copy trading and futures trading on the same platform.
Choose MEXC if:
Maximum leverage and access to a large number of futures markets are your priorities.
Choose Kraken if:
You're in the United States and want access to futures through a regulated U.S. offering.
Our Overall Winner: Phemex
For the type of trader we built Best Platforms For Trading for, Phemex is our top crypto futures platform in 2026.
It doesn't win because it offers the highest leverage—it doesn't.
Instead, Phemex combines the features we care about most:
Up to 100x leverage
0.01% maker / 0.06% taker base futures fees
TradingView-powered charting
Perpetual futures
Good position-management controls
Trading bots
Copy trading
A clean active-trader interface
More importantly, we've actually traded leveraged ETH/USDT perpetual futures on the platform rather than ranking it purely from its marketing materials.

How We Ranked the Best Crypto Futures Platforms
We don't believe a futures exchange should be ranked simply by which platform advertises the highest leverage.
Our rankings consider six primary factors.
1. Futures Trading Experience
We look at how easy it is to:
Open and close positions
Adjust leverage
Switch margin modes
Set take-profit orders
Set stop losses
Monitor liquidation prices
Review PnL
Manage existing positions
2. Trading Fees
For frequent traders, relatively small differences in maker and taker fees can become meaningful.
We compare standard rates while also considering VIP programs and the fact that promotional rates can change.
3. Leverage
We consider maximum leverage, but more leverage does not automatically produce a higher score.
Extreme leverage increases liquidation risk and is primarily useful to experienced traders who understand position sizing and margin.
4. Trading Tools
We give extra credit to exchanges offering useful functionality such as:
TradingView charts
Advanced order types
Trading bots
API access
Copy trading
Mock trading
Cross and isolated margin
5. Market Selection
A good futures exchange should offer more than BTC and ETH, while still maintaining a usable trading experience across its markets.
6. Availability and Regulation
An exchange is useless to a trader who isn't legally eligible to use it.
That's why our reviews clearly distinguish between international derivatives exchanges and U.S.-regulated futures providers.
What Are Crypto Futures?
Crypto futures are derivatives whose value is linked to the price of an underlying cryptocurrency.
Instead of purchasing Bitcoin itself, for example, a trader can enter a BTC futures position that rises or falls based on changes in Bitcoin's price.
Futures allow traders to:
Go long when they expect prices to rise
Go short when they expect prices to fall
Use leverage
Hedge existing cryptocurrency exposure
The trader generally doesn't own the underlying cryptocurrency represented by the futures position.
What Are Perpetual Futures?
Perpetual futures—or perps—are crypto derivatives without a traditional expiration date.
Instead of expiring monthly or quarterly, perpetual contracts use a funding-rate mechanism intended to keep the futures price close to the underlying spot market.
Depending on the funding rate, traders holding long positions may periodically pay traders holding short positions, or vice versa.
That makes funding an important trading cost to consider alongside maker and taker fees.
Is 100x Crypto Leverage a Good Idea?
For most traders, 100x leverage is extremely aggressive.
If you put $200 of margin into a position at 100x leverage, the simplified notional calculation is:
$200 × 100 = $20,000 of position exposure
That does not mean you purchased $20,000 of cryptocurrency.
It means a relatively small amount of margin is supporting a much larger derivatives position.
Higher leverage reduces the initial margin required but leaves less room for adverse market movement before the position reaches its maintenance-margin or liquidation threshold.
That's why experienced traders often use substantially less leverage than the maximum their exchange permits.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best platform for crypto futures trading?
Our overall pick for 2026 is Phemex because it offers a strong combination of perpetual futures, leverage up to 100x, competitive base fees, TradingView-powered charts and active-trading tools.
Bybit, Bitget, MEXC and Kraken each have advantages for particular types of traders.
Which crypto exchange has the highest leverage?
Among the exchanges in this comparison, MEXC offers the highest advertised maximum leverage, with selected BTC and ETH futures supporting leverage up to 500x.
Maximum leverage should not be confused with platform quality, and extreme leverage carries substantial liquidation risk.
Which crypto futures platform has the lowest fees?
There is no permanent winner because exchanges regularly adjust fees and run promotions.
Among standard published rates, Phemex currently starts futures trading at 0.01% maker / 0.06% taker, Bybit at 0.02% / 0.055%, and Bitget commonly lists 0.02% / 0.06%. MEXC frequently runs pair- and region-specific fee promotions.
Can Americans trade crypto futures?
Yes, but the platform matters.
Several major offshore exchanges do not accept U.S. users. Kraken Derivatives US now gives eligible American clients access to CME and Bitnomial futures products, including U.S. perpetual futures.
Is Phemex better than Bybit for futures?
We prefer Phemex for the overall futures trading experience, particularly its combination of fees, leverage and interface.
Bybit may be the stronger choice for a very advanced derivatives trader who wants a broader ecosystem of derivatives products.
The better option depends on which platform you're eligible to use and the products you actually trade.
What is the difference between futures and spot crypto trading?
Spot trading involves buying or selling the actual cryptocurrency.
Futures trading involves a derivative contract based on the cryptocurrency's price.
Spot positions generally don't face liquidation simply because the market price falls, while leveraged futures positions can be liquidated if the trader no longer meets the required margin level.
Bottom Line
There is no single crypto futures exchange that is best for every trader.
Phemex is our best overall futures trading platform for 2026, especially for active international traders looking for up to 100x leverage, competitive base fees and a strong trading interface.
Bybit is excellent for sophisticated derivatives traders.
Bitget stands out for futures copy trading.
MEXC caters to traders seeking very high leverage.
And Kraken has become particularly significant for U.S. futures traders as regulated access to crypto futures and perpetual products expands.
The most important consideration isn't finding the exchange with the biggest leverage number.
It's finding the platform that gives you the markets, execution tools, costs and risk controls you need—and that you're legally eligible to use.
