Phemex Review 2026 Personally Tested
Updated August 2026

I Traded ETH Futures At 100× On Phemex. Here's What Happened.

I wanted to know whether Phemex was genuinely built for active traders — not just another crypto exchange with a long feature list. So I used it. My short ETH/USDT test included winning and losing trades and finished with a net profit of $31.28.

What Exactly Is Phemex — And Why Did I Want To Test It?

Phemex launched in 2019 and has developed into a full crypto trading platform with spot markets, perpetual futures, leverage, trading bots and copy trading.

If all you want to do is buy Bitcoin and hold it for years, there are simpler crypto apps. Phemex gets much more interesting when you actually want to trade.

The platform lets traders go long or short, use leverage on selected futures markets, place more advanced orders, automate strategies and follow eligible traders through copy trading. Phemex also says it serves more than 10 million users worldwide.

That combination is what caught my attention. I didn't want to score Phemex by reading a feature page. I wanted to find out what the platform felt like once real money and real orders were involved.

Here's The Deal

The reason to consider Phemex isn't simply that it sells crypto. It's that one account gives an active trader access to futures, leverage, technical charting, automation and copy trading.

I Actually Tested It

My ETH Futures Test Ended In Profit — But It Also Showed Me How Fast 100× Moves

I traded ETH/USDT perpetual futures using isolated 100× leverage. The goal wasn't to prove that 100× leverage is a good idea. I wanted to test the actual futures workflow: opening positions, setting stop losses, monitoring fees and closing trades.

What stood out immediately was how easy it was to place and manage the orders. I wasn't fighting the interface, which meant I could spend more time watching the chart and deciding whether the trade still made sense.

My Real Results

Winning Trade +$46.05
Losing Trade −$14.77
Net Test Result +$31.28

I came out ahead by $31.28 in a short testing session. That made the experience exciting, but the losing trade was just as useful: at 100× leverage, a small move in ETH can translate into a very large percentage move in your position.

My Trading Workflow

I Prefer TradingView For The Analysis, Then Phemex For Execution

Phemex charts are powered by TradingView. My preferred workflow is to map trend, support, resistance, entry and invalidation levels first, then use Phemex to execute and manage the trade. That matters even more when leverage is high.

Approximate Total Position $20,000

If you put $200 into ETH at 100× leverage, you are controlling approximately $20,000 of ETH exposure.
Educational estimate only. The calculator uses an illustrative 0.5% maintenance-margin rate and a 0.06% close-fee assumption. Actual Phemex liquidation depends on the contract, risk tier, maintenance margin, fees, additional margin and Mark Price. Always use the liquidation price shown inside Phemex for a live trade.

Phemex Feels Less Like A “Buy Crypto” App And More Like A Trading Workstation

The biggest lesson from using it is that Phemex is most compelling when you actively want to trade, manage positions and experiment with different strategies.

The trading screen brings the chart, order entry, leverage settings, position management and market information together in one place. That sounds basic, but it is exactly what matters when you're trying to move quickly without losing track of your risk.

Inside The Phemex Trading Interface

01

Futures & Leverage

Trade long or short on perpetual futures and use leverage up to 100× on selected markets.

02

Bots & Automation

Build or use automated strategies and AI-assisted bot setup without leaving the exchange.

03

Review eligible lead traders and use copy-trading tools to mirror selected strategies.

The Futures Price May Not Match The Spot Price Exactly

One thing newer futures traders should know: a perpetual futures contract has its own order book. Its last-traded price can sit slightly above or below the underlying spot or index price. Phemex also uses Index Price and Mark Price; the Mark Price is particularly important because it is used for liquidation calculations.

Phemex's Base Futures Fees Are Built For Frequent Trading

Small fee differences matter more when you're opening and closing positions frequently. Phemex's published base rates are especially relevant for active futures traders.

Spot Maker / Taker 0.10% Published base spot trading rate.
Futures Maker 0.01% Published base contract maker rate.
Futures Taker 0.06% Published base contract taker rate.

Phemex also offers a VIP structure where trading fees can decrease as qualifying trading volume increases. Funding costs can apply to perpetual futures separately from the trading fee itself.

My Take

The fee schedule matters, but I care more about whether the platform makes active trading easy. In my test, execution and position management were the stronger selling points.

The Platform Is Powerful — Which Also Means The Risk Can Get Serious Fast

The same features that make Phemex interesting to an active trader can make it a poor fit for someone who does not understand leverage.

What I Like

The Trading Experience

Futures, long/short positioning, TradingView-powered charts, bots, copy trading and advanced order controls are available inside one trading environment. My own 100× ETH test was easy to execute and ended with a small net profit.

What I Would Not Ignore

Leverage & Security History

High leverage can turn small market moves into large losses. Phemex also disclosed a hot-wallet security incident in January 2025. The platform now emphasizes Proof of Reserves, cold storage and additional custody/security controls, but I still factor the incident into my rating.

Final Rating 9.6
★★★★★

Would I Trade On Phemex Again? Yes.

The strongest reason is simple: I actually enjoyed using the futures platform. My short ETH/USDT test was profitable overall, the interface made it easy to manage positions, and the wider platform gives active traders room to move into bots, copy trading and additional markets.

I would choose Phemex for active trading, not because I expect every trade to make money. The platform impressed me; 100× leverage also reminded me how quickly a trade can move in either direction.

Questions I'd Want Answered Before Using Phemex

What is Phemex?
Phemex is a cryptocurrency trading platform founded in 2019. It offers spot trading, perpetual futures, leverage, trading bots, copy trading and other crypto products. I think its strongest use case is active trading.
Did you actually trade on Phemex?
Yes. The screenshot in this review is from my own ETH/USDT perpetual futures test using isolated 100× leverage. The two displayed completed trades include a +$46.05 result and a −$14.77 result, leaving the short test up $31.28 overall.
How much does $200 control at 100× leverage?
Ignoring fees and other adjustments, $200 of margin at 100× leverage represents roughly $20,000 of notional market exposure. The calculator above lets you change the capital, leverage, entry price and long/short direction.
Does Phemex have AI trading bots and copy trading?
Phemex offers trading bots, AI-assisted bot configuration and copy trading. Those tools can simplify strategy setup or execution, but automated or copied strategies can still lose money.
What are Phemex's standard trading fees?
Phemex currently publishes base fees of 0.10% maker/taker for spot and 0.01% maker / 0.06% taker for contracts. VIP tiers can reduce trading fees for qualifying higher-volume traders.
Is Phemex safe?
Phemex publishes Proof of Reserves and highlights cold-storage, multi-layer security and institutional custody controls. It also disclosed a hot-wallet security incident in January 2025, which is part of why I do not give the platform a perfect security score.

Risk Disclosure: Cryptocurrency and leveraged derivatives involve substantial risk. Leverage magnifies both gains and losses and can result in rapid liquidation. Trading bots, AI-assisted strategies and copy trading do not guarantee profits.
